Absent House Publishing is an independent Wyoming-based publisher dedicated to elevating distinctive voices and meaningful scholarship. We publish works that challenge, inspire, and expand conversations across genres — from innovative literary writing to rigorous academic research.

Founded on the belief that important ideas deserve thoughtful presentation and wide accessibility, Absent House Publishing seeks out emerging and established authors whose work refuses to be overlooked. Our mission is to provide a professional platform where creativity, intellect, and originality converge, bringing compelling new perspectives to readers everywhere.

Before Absent House Publishing existed, there was a story — a childhood imagining of a house that slipped into another dimension, leaving only a doorway behind. That doorway became a lasting metaphor for the transformative power of storytelling.

Books, scholarship, and creative expression function in much the same way. They allow us to step through thresholds into unfamiliar cultures, histories, and ideas. They invite readers to explore intellectual and imaginative territories beyond their own lived experience.

Absent House Publishing was founded on the belief that every powerful manuscript offers such a threshold — an opportunity to cross into new worlds of thought and creativity.

How to Publish with AHP

Unlike most publishers, Absent House does not require having a literary agent and is generally open to manuscripts of any genre, provided that they meet the submission requirements listed through the link below. But, since we are a small company, we may have a cap on annual submissions. Contact us to see.
